Long day for Dad. He is very weak but trying hard to do everything he can do. Able to get up to the toilet with the help of two and then cruise about 20 feet into the hallway. He has been up for that 20 foot walk about 3 times today. It does wear him out for the next hour of so. His spirits are good and he has requested to go on the walks, you can tell he wants to get out of here.
They have plans for a specialized xray in the morning to see if anything is moving through his gut. It will take 3-4 hours to do the test. Bad news today is that his white cell count has been climbing. Could be an indicator of infection but he is not having any fever. Will wait and see where this goes.
Here is to a better start in 2011 than the end of 2010. Long road ahead for Dad but I have no doubt he is mentally tough enough and motivated to get on it.
